PBS Digital Studios’ latest installment of Blank on Blank excerpts a Joe Smith interview of Jerry Garcia, tracing the Grateful Dead’s early days as The Warlocks and recalling the Dead’s participation in the Acid Tests. The May 23, 1988 interview, a complete copy of which is apparently in the catalog at the Library of Congress, was conducted for Smith‘s book Off The Record: An Oral History Of Popular Music. The Blank on Blank feature runs about 6 minutes, with animations by Patrick Smith.
