The autumn 2014 edition of the bi-annual Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival happens this weekend in Silk Hope, near Pittsboro, NC. The festival is a family-friendly celebration of music, dance, art, & education over 4 days with 4 stages/tents and over 60 bands, plus food & craft vending and dance & instrument workshops. Tent & vehicle camping are allowed & encouraged. Fall headliners include North Mississippi Allstars, The Soul Rebels, The Duhks and the ubiquitous Donna the Buffalo. The Shakori Festival is put on by the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance Organization as a fundraiser for the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center.
