The inaugural Art of Cool jazz fest kicks off in Durham this weekend, with a free concert in Durham Central Park at 4 pm Friday. Over the course of the 2-day festival, approximately 50 acts will perform at 10 venues in & around downtown Durham. One and two-day passes are available. Among the performers are Maceo Parker, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble, Hubert Laws, Nnenna Freelon, Lois Deloatch-Gomes and Stanley Baird.
