Hurricane Matthew’s forecast track made a dramatic shift east on Wednesday and, as of Wednesday evening, the Fall 2016 Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is set to kick off Thursday 10/06 and run through Sunday in Silk Hope, near Pittsboro, NC. The festival is a family-friendly celebration of music, dance, art, & education with 4 stages and over 50 bands, plus food & craft vending and dance & instrument workshops. Tent & vehicle camping are allowed & encouraged. Fall 2016 performers include Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Dirty Bourbon River Show, Los Texmaniacs, Lizzy Ross, and the ubiquitous Donna the Buffalo along with Preston Frank.
The Shakori Festival is put on by the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance Organization as a fundraiser for the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center.
